Stating that a God may have in fact created the universe does not violate any church/state line. The word "may" is the key word there.
The problem is that somwhere in the mix science will always cross over into philosphy and existance and kids are going to ask questions.
To deny them the right to question all sides of the equation is unamerican.

So it's more wonderful to think that this is all a huge accident then it is to know that there is a God who is all knowing and is in complete control and has the power within himself to create absolute beauty?
What a waste of this 'beautiful accident' after you realize the cruelity that the world gives you 80 years to live to see it all and then you pass into nothing.
What if you could live forever in a paradise that makes this one seem miniscule?

It's an extremely rare story to hear about Christians who kill or persecute those who don't follow Christ. It's obvious that Christ would find that to be repulsive and a sin. His actions would prove that.
So any Christian that does so should be prosecuted by the law of the land.
