Just one thing went un-recognized for me... the guy with the sword and the ninja star.....
what game is that? i would say prince of persia (cause of the sword) but i don't remember the music from there and i would imagine that if they did prince of persia they would make long jumps and duals and stuff, the prince ran, he didn't "scurry".....

at first glance they look like prisoners numbers, perhaps they were intended to guide our imagination, giving it the nudge required to start imagining a whole backstory.
also, though less likely, I later played around with the thought that they were perhaps numbers relating the persons mass (or weight) but that is just because i'm working on a physics assignment at the moment... :)
