Barats is so hot!!!!1one
Well, I think he is, really...
Also, don't knock the Bible too much. It's not any better or any worse than any of the scriptures of other religions.

Re: Bill Withers: Ain't No Sunshine
I think it's funny that R&B used to really sound like Blues. I really don't see the connection between what we call R&B nowadays and what R&B used to be. I guess it was just the natural evolution of the genre that it ended up like it is now.
But anyways, thanks for the clip. Great song.

Re: Kidstoned Chewable Valium
Oh don't worry. Our kids are already get drugged up at the first signs that they have any energy that might make them at all intolerable. I hope you enjoy the world full of mindless, uncreative and pliable adults that we're creating.

Re: Light Fantastic: Let There Be Light
Interesting how the Catholic west taking the works of Islamic scholars is interpreted as co-opting their discoveries in order to "demonstrate its divine authority" though Islam wasn't accused of doing the same when it took the works of pagan Greek scholars.
I also find it interesting that Catholicism was "militant" when it re-conquered the lands conquered by Muslims, but Muslims weren't characterized as such when they took over those lands in the first place.
Don't get me wrong-- this was an interesting documentary, but its anti-Christian, especially anti-Catholic, bias couldn't be more apparent.
I'm an atheist, but such historical double standards do get tiresome.

Re: The Prosecution of George W. Bush
Also, think of the sort of precedent that would it set if the deaths of soldiers deployed by a former president could put him in danger of first degree murder charges. Do you honestly think people would be comfortable with that?

Re: The Prosecution of George W. Bush
First of all, first degree murder? Obviously if any expert is to state the case against Bush, Vincent Bugliosi is the man. It's just that from where I'm sitting it's rather surprising that one would accuse Bush of that particular crime and not something else.
Secondly, even though I highly doubt that someone who has the full backing of the Republican party behind him as a former president of the US would ever be prosecuted for a murder charge of killing soldiers during a war, I would be elated if Bush was actually brought to trial.

Re: Income Tax Propaganda Cartoon
Interesting... after watching this cartoon, do you think that today we're either more sensitive to the images of warfare and destruction, or was it merely that we were more confident about the righteousness of our cause during WWII?

Re: Weird Al Yankovic-Bob
Are you sure you're not thinking of Bach?
Mozart wrote some bits of music that could be randomly arranged to make a composition. Supposedly it wasn't a really great piece of music, but then again as you said it was just a game.
On the other hand, a crab cannon was a type of cannon in which one voice strictly imitated the other voice in retrograde (i.e. played the other voice backwards). The most famous example of this kind of "musical palindrome" is found in Bach's "A Musical Offering." And quite frankly, I think it is a fine little piece of music.

Re: The Lockers: Malt Liquor Commercial
As well as racist and blacksploitative. I wonder what the reaction would be today if this were shown on TV.

But if you had paid attention and took notes you would have learned how to count penguins and chickens up to 4 too!!!

Re: Daniel Radcliff on Extras
First of all, if it's not too much to ask, might someone please fix the spelling, capitalization, and grammar of the tagline please? I don't think I'm the only one so bothered by it.
Secondly, this is absolutely hilarious. Ricky Gervais is always spot on with his "humour."

Also, I love how SNL (and Mad TV, for that matter) find humor in Hillary by painting her as a tragic figure.
Finally, it's nice to SNL being funny again. For once.
