Re: Daily Show: Bristol Palin's Choice
What the fuck? How is freedom of choice different than pro-choice? Does that mean that you can choose but I can't?

Re: Jesus is My Friend, Ska Style
Even the name, "Sonseed," disgusts me. And the line about Jesus touching him deep inside when he tried to run and hide. I want no part of that.

Re: FOX News: Mr. Rogers is an Evil Man
Why will people get on board with bullshit like this but not with cartoon or video game violence influencing real life violence? You really think Mr. Rogers is more engaging than Grand Theft Auto?
I don't see how you can't have it both ways. Either Mr. Roger's doesn't hurt kids' development, or video games may just be affecting the little fuckers.
I submit to the jury a cake via cakewrecks for a four-year-old's birthday.

Re: John McCain Gets Testy with Vet over Gi Bill
He can't have a perfect record if he voted against two of the bills they want in now, including the one he seems to be saying he supported, if I understand him correctly.

Re: Obama on the Abortion Issue
Everyone who thinks women take this shit lightly should have to spend a few hours in an abortion clinic waiting room with nothing to do. Take in the fear by osmosis and see how you feel. Yeah, there are some casuals there, but not most, in my experience. Being there for someone you love is soul-twisting. Anyone, male or female, can go to Planned Parenthood to get an STD test--how bout it? And you can bring your kids (someone always does, causing even more squirming). Second deepest pit in hell I've ever been to.
Oh, and right-to-lifers who believe in the death penalty disgust me. So life is sacred until you fuck up? Believe in God's will or don't, you shits. It's a fucking commandment for everyone.

Re: Income Inequality in America
I still don't understand how so many people can think that this system is really working for them as it is. I'm talking about people who front but don't have any money. It's like they really still believe they'll wake up and there will be a limo outside their house waiting to take them away to their real family--they were adopted or switched at birth! They really are super duper rich! So long to this shit job with the tiny paycheck and the boss that treats you like shit. So they keep defending the system that supports the top 1%, saying that these people must have worked so hard for what they have, and if we don't give companies tax breaks there will be no incentive for them to keep doing what they do--because in their heart of hearts, they seem to think one day, these policies will apply to them, too. They don't seem to think that it would ease things for them to not have to pay for health care. Or that maybe not all the rich people earned every cent. Or that not all the poor people are lazy. No--one day, they, too, will be a Hilton.

Re: Larry McDonald on the New World Order
Man, political debate has degenerated in this country so much. Now it's talking points, character assassination, yelling at people to shut up, calling them faggots, and the candidates' personal lives.

Re: How Do They Do It: Aluminium
Well, if it's replanted with all one kind of tree for forestry (especially non-native species), it isn't necessarily an improvement on what was there before, either. Better than bare ground, but not like what was there before they tore it up. There's no biodiversity there. If they just put in things that grow quickly or are all the same and aren't disease resistant or kill native species or that native animals won't eat, you've still really changed everything from the way it was. </lorax>

Re: Modern Day Slavery: Racism in the Drug War
I don't think that they have every answer (no one group does, from abstinence only folks to 12 step to methadone), but harm reduction advocates do introduce ideas into the debate that should be discussed, when it comes to people who use drugs.
