Ah! at last someone else has noticed McIdiot's tendency to start every other sentence with "My friends."

McCain is actually quite moderate. He agrees with the liberals about Medicare negotiating drug prices, he agrees with the liberals on immigration, he agrees with liberals on campaign reform. Right now, he's just trying to fire up the ultra conservatives. In the general election, watch how centrist he becomes. Of course, the Iraq policy he spews presently and his 100% pro-life stance have to take a long walk (a promise of at least four years in duration) in order for him to get my vote.

Compared to most politicians, on either side, McCain ain't that bad. He definitely has balls: he won't always bow to the party line and he has genuine respect for the men and women in service. McCain is the best candidate the Republicans have had in a very long time.

However, like you, I am deeply opposed to any policy maker that wishes to take away womens' rights. That shit is simply unacceptable. Different ideas on things like economics or safeguarding the world I can accept (within reason) but some positions on certain issues are unalterable.

I'm curious how motivated and influential a President McCain would be on abortion laws. I'd sure be pissed if i had to make a trip down to the US just to protest. I don't want to have to stand next to annoying hippie protesters just to quell my burning desire to blaze churches.

It will be great to see McCain vs Obama this year. I'm happy for the American people; they actually have pretty good choices for their new leader ('cept for McCain's typical conservative stance on social issues). Mind you, I think a thumb tack is fine replacement for the Bush administration.

Ah, and that thumb tack is the whole rub with McCain, IMHO. He's reinvented himself as Bush light after having spent his entire career in DC earning a rep as a maverick.

I've said it here before and it bears repeating: The McCain of 2000 in 2000 would have been very much acceptable to me. Now that he's potentially going to follow up Shrubya and nominate at least another one or two Supreme Court justices like Roberts and Alito (both say nothing publicly about their abortion stance but have already shown that they'll gladly vote pro-life every time and twice on Thursdays), I have to shy away from him.

I'm amazed people still think women should have the right to murder their children regardless how old they are.

Re: Bill Maher: New Rules 2/22/08
but it's okay for men to murder one another under the guise of war?

If you are going to preach pro-life don't just end it with a fetus.

Don't use that switch sensative shit all of them do. IT isn't a fetus, it is a human, a completely unique individual with.

Secondly who said anyhting about war. where does war come into this. why do people always switch topics. No I'm not Christian or Republican so i don't advocate war either. no you can't use those arguments.

Re: Bill Maher: New Rules 2/22/08
Who cares what McIdiot agrees on? He'll agree to lick Hillary's ass if only that would make him President. Once he has secured that position, he says to the American people as follows: "My friends, go fuck yourselves."

And indeed, a pro-life stance is ridiculous. Some (be creative) should rape his wife. Let's see how fast she runs to the nearest abortion clinic.

Oh well, just my opinion. No doubt it'll earn me a yellow card or something. Worth it, anyhow.

Re: Bill Maher: New Rules 2/22/08
I'm going to jump in here on the abortion debate with an idea me and a female friend came up with. We call it the 3 strikes rule. Under it, women would be allowed three surgical abortions and on the forth their tubes would be tied. That would allow for the a woman to avoid carrying the child of her rapist as well as account for the occasional youthful indiscretion. But if someone finds the need to have more than 4 surgical abortions (I'm not talking morning after pill) chances are it is due to their desire to live irresponsibly and not face up to the consequences. So on the forth, tie her tubes, and it will be a lot cheaper and better for society in the long run.

Of course this doesn't have any real chance of becoming a law, but the conversation between my friend and I resulted from our discussion of a mutual acquaintance who'd had six abortions all of which were the result of her "liking to fuck but not liking condoms" in her own words. But whatever, I have compassion and patience for victims of violence or their own temporary lapse of judgment but not so much for sluts. That might piss some people off, but fuck it.
