Bicycle Race is a hit single for the English rock band Queen. It was released on their 1978 album Jazz and written by Queen's frontman Freddie Mercury.
To release this song, Queen staged a bicycle race with 65 naked girls. A clip from this race was used as the single cover. The video was originally banned, and the video had to be re-edited with colour added to censor out any offensive imagery. The song is famed for its 'bicycle bell solo', which fans would often replicate live at Queen concerts with their own such bells.
It was released as a Double-A side with the song "Fat Bottomed Girls". A still photograph from the naked bicycle race was used for the single cover, a pair of bikini bottoms crudely painted on the photo of the naked rider.

Hold on there... I only counted 25 (maybe 26) naked girls at any given time, not the promised 65. Therefore, I reject your rekust.

There were plenty of these young women backstage. Not everyone in the band was gay. ;-)

freddy mercury wasnt gay he was bisexual. He was in a long term relationship with a woman for 15 years up until he died. he even called her his one true love. This song has been hinted at as being a subtle hint from freddy mercury to the fact that he was bisexual. the way they emphasize BI in bicycle has been theorized as a clue. it's never been confirmed by the band but they also have never denied it.

Thanks for the clarification. I had always liked Queen in kind of a pop music way, though never a great student of the band the way I was with others. Only recently, I've realized that Freddie Mercury was perhaps the greatest frontman of them all.

completely agree. as far as frontmen are concerned theres only a select few that come close to freddy mercury. he's truly a legend in rock n roll.
