your usage of quotations around "unconventional interests" implies that those interests are something besides unconventional, such as "conventional." you make a good point, because, in fact, those interests are conventional - for a gay guy.
there's nothing wrong if he is gay. it's just that we want those people who are gay to come out so that they can live life to the fullest, deepest, most satisfying extent. you know?

Do they usually do staged interviews? I'm sure that Colbert would not be such a dick and try to pressure someone to come out of the closet when he isn't ready.

Ive seen an interview and they do bait-and-switch. They ask you questions that make you feel like your taking on a dare and they record everything. But this guy is gay.
