Yeah he can fire off 6-7 punches per second, but he keeps missing.

There's no way he could put any force behind those, notice how the other guy isn't the least bit concerned he won't pull the punches correctly? lol. That's not faith in a friend's control, that's knowning your friend is harmless and if you humor him he'll buy you lunch or something lol.

Or it could possibly be "We've done this, or something like it, for the last 15 years and I know exactly what's going to happen."
I've seen lots of videos of trained martial artists doing the ritualistic sparing and that's what they generally look like.
Oh and I don't want to get into the one inch punch deal. You don't need a huge amount of space to hit someone hard.
