Re: Women In Art
that was pretty cool. Wish it was a touch slower, but i love the idea.

Re: Women In Art
All these women (or a lot of them) seem to have a very similar expression on their faces. I guess you can't sit still for a long time and look cute at the same time in so many ways.

Re: Women In Art
How about the expression on the faces of Muslim women, if a similar sequence had been put together?

Re: Women In Art
100 points to anyone who can name all the paintings! The points aren't good for anything, but you'll get them, just the same!

Re: Women In Art
So throughout art history . . . all women have looked vaguely like Holly Hunter?

Re: Women In Art
Likewise! Thank God I'm a man. I enjoy one of life's greatest pleasures, which is looking at the more beautiful of humans - woman! Women do not, IMHO, enjoy looking at the more beautiful of humans. Well, the majority of women don't anyway! (Hey, I'm a man, biased in this matter, and proud of it!)

Re: Women In Art
Yeah...I agree...better title would be "White Women in Art". I saw a couple portraits of women with vaguely olive skin tone...where are the women of color?

Re: Women In Art
Arab women who are also Caucasian (a k a White) would be worthy of art, but how could you tell one from the other under their hiqab (or hijab)?

Re: Women In Art
Yeah, I thought so, too. Women of all colors are nice to look at...but I guess there aren't too many paintings of them all, since only the rich and elite could commission paintings. Sad.

Re: Women In Art
This might be shocking to you, but this is a montage of 500 years of EUROPEAN paintings, and most people that painted in the European style were *gasp* Europeans painting other Europeans! No wai!

Re: Women In Art
I agree, it could be a little slower. I really like the concept, but I think it could be titled "White Women in Art", I didn't see any women of color...I am not sure Picasso counts.Totally would have liked it better if it were more diverse and slower. Peace and Love, y'all!!

Re: Women In Art
INCREDIBLE! I hope you try it again, with cultural diversity and different facial expressions. I kept waiting for Frida Kahlo and expressionistic pieces, Chagall, Picasso, Gaugin, Miro, Mondrian, Giocometti, Sieglitz, Cassatt.. and more women artists painting women! What fun!

Re: Women In Art
Extraordinary. Yes, it might be nice if it included women of color -- but it is an artistic and technical tour de force just as it is.

Re: Women In Art
Au contraire! The women are of color, if a bit on the pale side. Why do you wrongly think that white or Caucasian skin does not have color. Say what you mean and please mean what you say!

Re: Women In Art
This was cool! Have to say though, that I don't understand why people can't just appreciate this for what it is without bringing race into it. Maybe women of color wouldn't have 'morphed' well with the white women.

Re: Women In Art
Animation should be slower . . . should include (pick some category not included) — picky, picky, picky.
Why not just appreciate the effort someone has put into doing this, an effort probably with no hope of any reward other than the satisfaction of making something beautiful, why not just appreciate it and leave it at that?
But no. Picky, picky picky.
No wonder Van Gogh cut off his ear.

Re: Women In Art
How about you just enjoy it the way it is in its beauty. Not everything is a racial issue.
But it would be a cool screen saver!

Re: Women In Art
Nothing short of beautiful. While people lose time and opportunity to learn watching sitcoms reruns and cartoons.

Re: Women In Art
I loved it! I was anticipating the women to age though. I think that would have been really dramatic! Thanks!

Re: Women In Art
I would guess the reason most of the women are caucasian is that historically western art is very different from that of other world regions. Eastern art is much less literal and usually does not have a central human figure as the primary subject. African art tends to not even be in the form of painting or drawing on a flat smooth surface. It would be nearly impossible to morph these art styles into a cohesive unit.

Re: Women In Art
Towards the end the paintings got more abstract and post modern. Makes sense of course. However I think a lot of the realism and beauty was lost.

Re: Women In Art
How beautiful!!! What a tribute to women in Western art!! I wonder, was the person who so meticulously put this together a man or a woman?

Re: Women In Art
I think this is Amazing - no matter what anyone says! Honestly, some ppl today, cannot do anything - w/o finding fault in it. It was created for beauty, and soul expression. Kudos to the creator!!
