Goofy: No Smoking
A Disney cartoon from the 50's that would have todays censors going nuts.

Re: Goofy: No Smoking
It does use the word "Fag" a couple time when taking of a cigarette. Hmm, makes you wonder why that became a degrading remark in the first place? That's like calling a gay person a smoke! "look at those two smokes over there holdin' hands" Then again, that does have a degrading "ring" as well.

Re: Goofy: No Smoking
Well, "faggot" has it's roots in Latin (Or is it French? Not sure) as the word for a bundle of sticks fit to be burned for a fire. Calling a person this implies they deserve to be burned to death.

What I don't get is... what was the point of it? Was it supposed to show 'don't bother trying to give up, you can't'? Was it supposed to show how ridiculously addicted people become?
I just don't get what the initial idea was

Re: Goofy: No Smoking
That was a freakin cool cartoon. As someone mentioned above I couldnt really figure out the message it was trying to put across. Perhaps smoking back then was frowned upon to the degree that fast food is today.

Did none of you noticed he was asking the old man if he had any WEED or SNUFF? lol

Re: Goofy: No Smoking
Snuff is scented tobacco that was shoved up the nose to mask the stink of B.O. back in the bible days.
