Too many factors come into play in relationships, typically one person will always give more than the other does. Resentment stirs and eventually people split. And only thru the acceptance of the loss of self can two people be together.

Its much easier to just watch porn and masturbate. At least you can still watch your Sports, drink beer, and play games as often as you need to keep yourself sane. And you wont ever be dragged into being another persons "bitch". Going to "bed and bath" shops, and going to some bullshit flowery event you never wanted to be at in the first place.

Relationships are flawed. They are based on sacrifice and compromise. You give up most of what makes you, you. So the other person can feel ok about the time they spend with you.
You give up what keeps you sane... or severly Cripple your hobby time, so you can waste away hour after hour in some f-ing craft shop looking for flower beads.

All so you can have somone to hold on to at night, care for so you feel useful and needed, and have sex with.

In the end, its just easier on the body and heart to just give up on being needed or holding on to anyone.... watch porn, and pay money for sex when you feel the need.

This will leave you with all the time you need to not f-ing lose it from boredom and flower beads and skirt shopping. Occasional bouts of being lonely is better than months of bitching, arguments, and in the end the total loss of self and focus.

Keeping your own needs met takes precedence over keeping another human being around. And yes, being alone ... (even for 10+ years) can be better than being with somone.

Yes, but as life gets more complex these steps tend to double. You see, I remember a time not so long ago when it only took 32 steps....and before I knew what dating really was, it only took sixteen steps. I fear the day that I have to go through a divorce when I will need to work my way through 128 steps. :(
