"... some crazy propaganda network"?
Obviously, News Corp allows certain latitude to its treasured stars.

Re: Simpsons: Bart's Fox News Dream
What exactly could they do if they wanted to? When Family Guy was brought back by popular demand it was allowed leeway to make fun of the network. Why? Because it was shown that the network needed them more than they needed the network.
With The Simpsons, the effect is magnified, especially since Bart & Co. have been there longer than most of the real employee's. Besides, who's going to be the shmuck that cancels The Simpsons?

Remember, propaganda isn't an end it itself; the point is to make money. FOX also makes money from teh lulz on Family Guy and The Simpsons.

Re: Simpsons: Bart's Fox News Dream
Not really.
Fox News Executives actually wanted to sue the makers of The Simpsons after derogatory comments were aired on the show about their conservative bias - until they realised The Simpsons was part of the same network... doh!

Re: Simpsons: Bart's Fox News Dream
I miss the days when The Simpsons wasn't a political cartoon. In my opinion, the writing is tasteless, politically biased, and in general, just not funny. At least Family Guy comes up with fresh dialog as well as political jabs on both sides of the spectrum. I know that Family Guy has a few political episodes here and there, but The Simpsons seems to be nothing but a couch potato's New York Times.

Well to me i always thought cartoons get boring when they begin to draw political lines.I dont mind the odd jab at bush or the latest hollywood celebrity preaching a political viewpoint, but its a cartoon. What happened to just irrelavant humour or just funny storylines. This was why the simpsons was great. It had the perfect balance of both. But now these new writers come along and just give our much beloved characters bland motives.Family guy never really stuck to a point and now its just a waste. How much more will it last? At least south park knows how to address a point and then use it to its audience in a humourous way.
