The Point!: Think About Your Troubles
The Point! is a fable about a boy named Oblio, the only round-headed person in the Land of Point, where by law everyone and everything had to have a point.

By American songwriter and musician Harry Nilsson.

Although not part of this clip, he voice of the father was provided by Dustin Hoffman, but for contractual reasons later airings of the film could not use Hoffman's voice and was re-recorded by Ringo Starr.

The voice of the son, and of Oblio, was provided by Mike Lookinland, an actor best known as young Bobby Brady on the television series The Brady Bunch.

Circa 1971.

I remember this from my college days. The Narrator is Ring Star.

Ringo Starr? I thought Dustin Hoffman played the father and was the voice of the narrator.

Re: The Point: Think About Your Troubles
Dustin Hoffman did the voice-over for the original broadcast, however his contract was only for that original broadcast and not subsequent rebroadcasts or distribution.

Next they used a young Alan Thicke, which I never heard but apparently it didn't go over too well.

So they enlisted Ringo Starr, who was a good friend of Harry Nilson, and that's the version that is distributed on DVD now.

I can't even remember the last time it was broadcast on TV. I presume Nilson's lyrics contain too many references that are "inappropriate" for the age group now.

My kids love this movie. I'm a big Nilsson fan, and this is a great venue for his talent. We even have his original album that was adapted into the film. Lots of classic voice actors in this.

It's pretty trippy too. The bit with the bouncing naked fat ladies always freaks me out. Great flick.

I think I remember this from my childhood. They used to have the video at my old daycare, I think. I had forgotten about it. Anyone have the whole show?

i've never heart a song with so many instances of the word 'decompose' that didn't tell me to kill my parents when played backwards
