Re: No News
Was this created by the news programs themselves, as a joke, or was it put together by some genius outsider from satellite news feeds?

Re: No News
made by an outsider from actually transmitted clips of the television equivalent of dead air (if you believe the description on the website). By this genius:

Re: No News
The news could use time like this. It might get people to address the news in their own lives.
Can anyone answer me this: is there a news station anywhere that plays a constant stream of reported facts, without commentary or special reports? I would actually watch the news if I weren't forced to wallow in vapid bullcrap whenever I watch. I would even appreciate an internet resource. Seriously, I want to learn about what goes on in the world if I could just get it straight away.

Re: No News
Probably the BBC World Service comes closest to what you are looking for. My favorite part is that they call the on-air people "news readers", making it clear that their job is to just present the information and not pretend to be journalists.

Re: No News
Euronews has "No comment", 10 or so minutes of more extended camera footage from around the world without voice commentary from the off.
