I love how this is directly above a link to a full version of Office Space.

Re: Jack Black's Anti-Piracy PSA
did anyone else lose maybe even a little respect for Jack Black over this? This sort of pandering makes him look like a douche. I love that guy but thats just stupid. Its like "come on guys, I'm cool, just don't commit piracy, cause its not cool, like me". Even the way he tried to disguise the issue as if real pirates were stealing entertainers internets - (which in and of itself IS hilarious) - is just transparent. I would have appreciated something more honest like, "they made me say this otherwise I am not getting my residuals from DVD sales" Now THAT would be funny, and maybe even inspiring. NO BS honesty, what a concept. Why is it so rare in this day and age?

I think the line of reasoning he uses is far too silly for an actual plea to stop stealing his internets.

yeah..I'm going to agree with Spinier on this one. If the artist's wanna make a PSA, make it against the Production companies. The ones that have been screwing artists since the Phonograph was invented.

This is what I practice every moment of every day. It keep me laughing, and respecting myself. I wish more people were into it. But sadly, most people can't handle pure uncut truth. It scares them, angers them; makes them get all huffy puffy and defensive. So, this is why I've learned to simply not care who I offend. I'm an asshole and I'm ok with it.
As for Jack Black, I've always found him to be way too overdone. He thinks he's funnier than he is. Sure, he has presence and School of Rock was a great film but the man is kind of annoying most of the time.
My view on piracy is that it CANNOT be controlled so why bitch. Technology made coal and sail ships obsolete; now it is changing music and movies distribution. I have no problem with some laws in place (no selling pirated stuff, etc) but don't fucking preach to me that is immoral. There is still a shitload of money to be made out there. Plus, if any other consumers out there are like me they will go spend money on artists they care about: purchasing stuff even if it can be found for free, going to concerts etc.
