Re: Is Bush an Idiot?
I was flipping the channels the other day and saw this. To be fair to those who support Bush, he might be merely inarticulate.
Nah!

Re: Is Bush an Idiot?
on cnn they showed an interview with bush were this guy was grilling him on obscere presidents...like: "who's the general of the agala bala army" or some stuff like that. I was thinking to myself...HE'S THE PRESIDENT. HE'S NOT ON JEOPORDY. WHo cares.
I'm really worn out of people ripping on bush. I hope they know that kerry doesn't know the president of ali baba either.

Re: Is Bush an Idiot?
So if the person responsible for instituting a foreign policy is ignorant and apathetic about world leaders and current events, he deserves support and 'not to be ripped upon' by people?

Re: Is Bush an Idiot?
As soon as I see the classic Bush "monkey-face" picture, I immediately lose interest in whatever the content is. Not because I don't think he's an idiot, but because I've seen this kind of thing way too many times. Bush slipping on his speech is just not surprising or funny any more. It's both tired, and angering.
What I'd really like to see is the news actually ridiculing his destructive policies rather than his goofiness.

Re: Is Bush an Idiot?
Feel free to get into a discussion with me on that last topic any day. Even his precious tax cuts have manifested themselves into higher property taxes due to the unfunded mandates that the states have had to bear the burden of.
I really cannot think of one facet of the actions of this administration that has benefitted the average middle class citizen in any way.

Re: Is Bush an Idiot?
I can't tell if there's been a misunderstanding or not. Let me rephrase:
I'm rabidly anti-Bush. It's just that the jokes of the form "Oh look at his stupid face" or "Listen to him screw up his speech" aren't funny to me anymore.
And more seriously, I object to the fact that the News would focus on meaningless clips of Bush's mistakes, rather than really go for the jugular and criticize his policy decisions.
Disregard all of the above clarification if by "discussion" you meant we both hold hands and mutually sing our dissatisfaction with the President.

Re: Is Bush an Idiot?
Sorry, I realize that I was openly griping rather than addressing your concerns. You've very much right about this point of the news in general and this clip specifically. After all, it appeared on Scarborough Country. MSNBC has three or four blatant right-wing pundits these days (Michael Savage got fired for an insensitive remark, Monica Crowley got cancelled and Pat Buchanan is quite critical of the current administration)... none more strident of the GOP cause than Joe Scarborough. Tucker Carlson comes a close second.
The policy is bad enough. The blatant disregard for the US Constitution is disgusting. And the billions of dollars wasted each month in a vain attempt to save face is a national embarrassment.
But hey, I state the obvious. You didn't expect the media to let the cat out of the bag regarding how bad things really are, do you?

You guys rule! The TV News is nothing but entertainment run by big money. They don't go for real stories. The same big money that lobbies congress owns the TV station.

Re: Is Bush an Idiot?
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've been waiting six years to hear this from someone else aside from myself.
Actually, George Dubya was a good public speaker before he became President. I think the immesureable pressure from the attention of the ENTIRE world is finally taking its toll. He's doing better than I would in this situation so I'm going to keep my mouth shut.
What he says makes little sense much less how he says it. What I care about is what he does while he is in office.

Re: Is Bush an Idiot?
At least we have some intelligent people leaving comments....I was waiting for the "BUSH RULEZ, YOU GUYZ CAN SUCK MY NUTZ!" kind of comments...
And by the way...I agree with everyones comments so far...I think this is the worst administration in my lifetime or at least since I have been old enough to somewhat understand whats been going on.

Re: Is Bush an Idiot?
A little note for those in mass media:
Bush's inadequecy as a public speaker has been made very clear!!! Leave him alone!!! If you want to attack Bush, attack his policies that are worth the time of those who will criticize him!!!
To be perfectly honest, I have my beefs with the president just like everyone else. Only, I don't dump my ignorance of the REAL situation on Bush's public speaking slip-ups.

Survey says: YES!
I understand why some would say that we need to focus on Bush's real faults, not just his inability to master the english language. Some might even go further and claim that it doesn't really matter that he's inarticulate. I ask, "Is this idiot really the guy we want speaking for us?" Thank God he's got Condoleezza in there where it really counts, (not that I don't think she's an alien, cause I DO!)

Re: Survey says: YES!
Well, again, I think there are PLENTY of reasons Bush should not be speaking for us. Of course, the most entertaining are the speech-problems. And I have no problem hearing arguments of the form: "I believe a president should act both as ambassador to its people and to other nations. If he has problems articulating, then he's effectively lost this important quality. I question his ability to lead."
However, this is not how it's presented here. Instead, there's a tantalizing caption: "Is Bush an Idiot?"; then clips of simple slip-ups that everyone makes. This is dishonest and sensational journalism that does nothing but ridicule.
I'm dismayed that these trivial visuals are what sway the public opinion. I hate to use the cliche, but imagine the upset if Bush received a blowjob from an intern. Now imagine the upset from years of trampling our rights, defending the unethical practices of his administration, torture, imprisonment, etc. It's a shame. Really.

Re: Survey says: YES!
Also, I have no idea what you mean by Condoleeza being an alien. Are you saying she looks one?
By: DonkaWechico
Re: Survey says: YES!
the alien comment- a great book by David Icke called Children of the Matrix explains how the government and Illuminati are actually reptilian bloodsucking aliens who shapeshift their DNA so they can live in thier human host bodies. it's so far out it's highly believable. read it before you decide!
