Yes,it could be termed racist......but it isn't hateful.It's just cute,well drawn,and from an era that knew no other way to behave.I'm against deletion of these items,as though they never existed.The African American history is nothing like the fairy tale Bill Cosby was forcing down our throats with his horrible sit-com (depicting his father as a Dr.,a former jazz musician,a professor,and an ex-basketball player).What's wrong with having a working-class father? My dad was,and I loved him just the same.
