Dear all:
How to light the lamp in the very beginning? I click everywhere of the picture, but the lamp doesn't light, and nothing happans? What should I do??? I can't proceed! Is it the picture with mistake??

I can't get the lighter from under the trash can, i can't figure out what im doing wrong, i've tried selecting the hair with paper first, ive tried with nothing selected...nothing seems to work any help?

I tried playing the noise that is made when you try to open the door backwards and it said something. I couldn't make sense of it, but maybe someone else could. P.S. I could make out the words "you" and "unbelievable".

yey guys i did it i finished it look put the cd in the cd case(for those who got evry thing) and put it behind the 2 thing on the shelf then put the sticks dont light any put them only then put the beer make shure its chilly then when all it done light the stick(it must be complete stick i think)then click the red thing :D dont get scared the skelton will come up ps if it dosent work try getting out of the door and then do it again it will work :P

Actually, the people who played viridian room have helped the skeleton (boyfriend) ESCAPE the room because he was trapped in there with the lock on his leg. If anyone looked through the door without the doorknob, you would see the crimson room. I think this game was genius!

okay, my only problem is I can't not the light the scene because there is no stick in iwch I can ignite, can anyone help me, it would be greatly appersiated?

The name of his page is Viridian room walkthrough, but there isnt one, so here it is, i wrote it a while ago but i played the game a while ago, and i have forgotten how to make the green paper into a cube? I'm helping u guys by givin u the walkthrough, can someone please tell me how to make the cube? please!!!!!! (sorri about the slang if thee is any, i was rushed...) i trid to make it with no typos,

1) Turn the light on by clicking the bright spot in the bottom center of the screen

2) Look in the trashcan next to the small fridge. You have to open the fridge and close it again to be able to reach the trashcan. Get the hair out of the trashcan and into your inventory.

3) Select the hair in your inventory, and click "About Item". You need to do this to unlock the next step.

4) Now that you've examined the hair, you can lift the trashcan (if you don't inspect everything in your inventory, nothing happens when you click the trashcan). Get the lighter from under the trashcan.

5) Back to the fridge. Open the fridge and get the can of beer from it, then put it right back in. You need to do this to refrigerate the can.

6) Check under the meat in the fridge to find the first symbol. If you didn't before, put the beer back into the fridge.

7) Click to the right of the trashcan to turn and face the wall. You'll see another white card with a symbol on it.

8) Click to the right to turn again, until you see this screen. You'll see a bit of the lamp near the top right of the screen. Click it.

9) It's hard to see, but another symbol card is hiding on top of the lamp (it's shaded red instead of white, it's on the left side of the lamp).

10) Check the top shelf of the gray bookcase, and look in the left-hand side for another symbol card.

11) While you're there, check the right-hand side of this top shelf for a bundle of incense.

12) Check under the two brown pillows to the right of the bookcase for another symbol card.

13) Check under the blue slippers in the short red bookcase for another symbol card.

14) Click the slippers to put them back down, then click the space under the red bookcase to reveal an empty frame.

15) Look in the bottom cupboard of the gray bookcase for a yellow book. Take the two photos from inside it.

16) Click the red mat on the floor in the centre of the room to reveal a skeleton.

17) Take the blue bottle of pills from the skeleton's right hand. Then, click the skeleton's other hand a few times until it drops a key. Take it.

18) Inside the bottle of pills is a piece of paper with Chinese symbols on it. You will need to remember the symbols and their pattern. You can try to write the symbols on a piece of paper.

19) Now that you've got the key, you can take the red mat that was covering the skeleton. Examine it and click it a couple times until you open it. Get the green cross from inside.

20) The key from the skeleton unlocks the diary, the red book on the bookcase. Use the key on the lock, and read (click the hand symbols to flip the pages).

21) When you get to the page where the writer says his girlfriend's birthday is in two days, stop. Write down the month and day of her birthday (that would be two days after the date of the entry where he mentions it). If you're confused, it's the date of the entry where he says it's the worst day of his life. The date is random, be sure to write it down.

22) Slowly flip through the empty pages of the diary. After the last page you will find a CD. Take it.

23) Now check the skeleton's feet to find a bike lock. The first two numbers of the combination are the month of the girlfriend's birthday (use a 0 as the first number if it's less than ten). The last two numbers are the day of her birthday (again, use a 0 if it's less than ten). When you get it right, it will unlock.

24) Examine the black hair in your inventory. Select the lighter, and use it on the black hair many times until the pattern appears completely brown (the game will say something when you're done). This pattern is also random, write it down. NOTICE that this pattern corresponds to the pattern of the Chinese symbols. In this example, the Chinese symbol on the left in the bottom row is #1, the Chinese symbol on the right on the bottom row is #2, and so on.

25) Examine your CD case, open it, and put the CD in.

26) Examine the green cross. The dots from the black hair paper (which are random each game) correspond to the dots on the cross. Find the Chinese symbol that is in the same position as the brown square with one dot in it (on the black hair paper), and place that symbol on the green square with one dot in it (on the green cross). In this example, the Chinese symbol on the left in the bottom row would go on the green square with one dot in it. Find the symbol in the position of the brown square with two dots, and place it on the green square with two dots. Repeat for all the numbers of dots.

27) NOTE: THIS EXAMPLE WILL NOT WORK IN YOUR GAME. The pattern you must follow is random. This picture is only an example of where the symbols should go in THIS game. The last one is left out because if it were placed, the cross would become a box.

28) When you get it right, it turns into a box. If you didn't put the beer back in the fridge, do it now. You'll have to wait a few minutes for the beer to get chilly. Take the beer out of the fridge and examine it. If it says "so chilly", it's ready.

Why is it that when I try to click on the lamp when I'm in front of the bookcase, it shows the other door with a doorknob on it instead of the plain door? I can't get the last card.

if you want to get the lighter from underneath the bin.. click on the hair.. and press about item.. then go back to the bin... and click its base.. it will only work if u click about item on the locks of hair..
