Penn & Teller Bullshit: End of the World
First aired: Feb 14, 2003 and 27:54. Since before many of us could remember, there have been claims that the world was going to end. An example I'm sure we will all remember is the year 2000. In this episode of Bullshit, Penn and Teller will take a look into these claims and predictions. The misinterpretations of Nostradamus and why they are wrong, to the famous and million-dollar book series: Left Behind. A couple will also be looked at who live in the wild woods to survive, but cannot hunt! A camp will also be visited where people learn survival skills out in the woods just to survive the end of the world. These lessons turn out to be useless as they accomplish nothing. A survivalist has linked 40 school buses into an underground shelter for a commnity of people to live in when the bombs start falling. The end of the world may be coming, but why bother being involved in all the bullshit? If the world ends, then it ends. Penn and Teller explains all this Bullshit in this End of the World episode.

I be much more satisfied if it was just the amazing Randi going around and debunking them instead of Penn, cause, really, he's a deuche, and doesn't go about debunking the bunk fairly. Instead he has to make comments calling them assholes, and actually cutting them off when they are about to make a point. The guy said about earthquakes that "We can statistically show that..." then Penn cuts him off and says "thaats bullshit" and then refutes the argumen; which would be fair if he was saying that more people have died from earthquakes recently. But if he was saying that more earthquakes had happend then Penn is wrong, or he is making it up. But we won't know because penn cut him off.

I don't know...if you listen to the guy's voice inflection, it sounds like he had finished his sentence/point. "....We can show that." Penn then refutes, but does not cut off, with several valid points.

Wait. Penn argued as though the guy said that more people had died from earthquakes recently. But if he was stating that more earthquakes have happend then he is right, and Penn was refuting a different arguement.

'Left Behind' is a poorly written fictional series. The writers openly state underneath the blurb and on the inside of the dust jacket on the front that each book is a work of fiction, and that they are a fictionalised portrayal of the book of Revelation, not a 'literal one' as Penn and Teller profess. Sorry guys, your research team let you down this time.

Still, the implication is that something like this is going to happen. The idea of the apocalypse is extremely exciting. If these weak-minded people didn't think that something like this was going to happen, I bet these books wouldn't be as popular.
