George Carlin: Class Clown for Kids Only
A George Carlin routine in front of a kids audience.

This was from a children's special from about 1980.

Funny how he is still able to incorporate elements of the original material and appeal to an entirely different audience.

So you mean he took his original material & cleaned it up for kids? WILD!

Re: George Carlin: Class Clown for Kids Only
I guess this is a foreshadowing of Mr. Conductor. But seriously, this really speaks to the genius of Carlin that he was able to be funny with his edgy, vulgar material but he didn't have to rely on the shock value of it to get a laugh. Thus he could be just as funny when doing cleaned up material. Compare this to Bob Saget for example whose whole shtick is "Hey I'm the dad from Full House and I'm going to say fuck a lot."

Ya know, I think Carlin would have argued that his "regular" material wasn't vulgar. It was just meant for an adult audience.

There is nothing finer than the opportunity to corrupt young impressionable mind.

I may hate kids, but I'd snap at the chance to make life harder for their parents and teachers. Glad Carlin saw things this way too.

Don't hate them. But don't have them either. Just between you, me and a few hundred folks who might stumble across these words? Get a dog instead. Far more loyal.
