Why Do People Laugh at Creationists? (Part 24)
Part of a series of videos exposing the funny stupidity of creationists and why they deserve to be laughed at. In each case the creationist statements are shown to be outrageously stupid by even the most rudimentary knowledge of science.

In this episode Ben Stein is again taken to task over his mindless spin doctoring (not dissimilar to his 'universities are fortresses of nonsense' line), most annoyingly his statement that 'science leads to killing people'. What I find most disturbing is that the Christian audience and host were seemly un-phased by this opinion. Have they no sense of perspective?

Add this to steins scaremongering/warmongering where he is arguing that the US military which constitutes about 50% of the military spending of the world is grossly inadequate and 'worn down to the nub'.

He speaks out against slavery, how it was once legal.

The bible however states that it should still be legal. It gives details on what slaves are worth and how to buy and sell them.

At the end his plea to people is to believe in a god so that you can feel as though you are important.

Sorry Stein, I don't need a fairytale to see how wonderful our existence is.

Why do people laugh at Mr Stein? Well, he's got that ridiculous speech impediment for starters, and he mumbles waaaaaay too much...

Oh yeah, and all the military talk. Yeah that too. But mainly the bad diction.

Voodoo economics?

I once thought Ben Stein used his head for more than keeping his glasses at eye level. Now I am not so sure.

Funny how economics and law degrees make you more than adequately able to speak as an "expert" on not only scientific truths but those of the spiritual world. Guess I need to read the fine print on my diplomas...

Is this a documentary about Creationist's views or Stein's? This "documentary" contains no information whatsoever.

"What I find most disturbing is that the Christian audience and host were seemly un-phased by this opinion. Have they no sense of perspective?" While this video makes any rational person laugh, consider the alternatives. Also laughable. And as to perspective, if you claim the need for another, you must claim the need for yourself as well, or invalidate your opinions. Perspective must begin in neutrality and logic. Leftism is a much on offense to the rational minds as is this unthinking "creationism." (i.e. the leftist tendency to consider all creationists Christians, and all Christians creationists). These words have the meaning you allow them to have, but forcing a word to fit a person does not make the idea apply as well. :)

I find it incredibly sad that his rationale for what he's promoting is that he wants us to feel like more than just "dirt". I am an atheist, an evolutionist, and I feel like more than just dirt, I feel like the amazing result of millions and millions of years of evolution. I think it's idiotic that he needs creationism to feel good about himself... I think it's idiotic that anyone does.
