hmmmm...i feel like i'm missing something. never seen the movie, but it seems this scene doesn't work all that well out of context.
i dunno. maybe i just don't get it.

Don't worry. Your observation about some clips out of context might be very true. Different items strike different people in uh, err... different ways.
Seriously.
But the bottom line is that I haven't seen the flick either and probably would not have considered submitting this one if it were not for Jaxon's 3 part clip back in early December:

Re: Richard Pryor, Gene Wilder: Job Interview
I'm sometimes surprised at voting here, in good and bad ways (no criticism). After my Stanley Kubrick Bloopers, I often think twice and sometimes even more times before sending in a link. If people dislike something here, they sure publicize their feelings, one-star ratings and foul language zipping across the place.
I think it was two days ago when I sent in that The Ten Types of Republicans video. Well, after one vote, I had seen enough already and killed it.
But, voting here is always honest, which I appreciate. The only thing wrong with it is that it doesn't happen often enough. Not that it should be enforced or anything.
(Now, should I submit that parody of Björk or not?)
Good thing that my Exorcist link has survived so far; you should see the YouTube comments - some people are going absolutely berserk over it (in a bad way) ...

Parody of Bjork? What could anyone find about Bjork to parody?

It attracts hordes of fuming Björk fans.

Yes, of course we are all influenced by past voting. But there's no reason (just one man's opinion) to pull your own submission. My experience has been good and bad with some topics and musical tastes and yet I keep coming back to them again from time to time to see if the latest crowd of voting regulars (yes, we know who you are) enjoy them.
Want to look in my history of all the Grateful Dead links that were nearly voted off the island? And yet our current base seems to like them a lot. One of my first headlines was lifted from RedTongue and I went back there again and again to post additional items. All major flops. Midwestteensexshow had its detractors and a few backers.
All I'm saying here is that we ought to post first and let the chips fall where they may.
